Sensible Agronomics and Shrewd Conversations Support the Adoption of Environmentally Sustainable and Economically Sound Production Systems

Abstract: This collaborative effort brings together agronomists, irrigation specialists, an agricultural economist, a hydrologist, and social science researchers to improve water quality and quantity in the Lower Mississippi River Basin by increasing the adoption of a novel approach to farming that integrates state-of-the-art irrigation water management technologies into reduced tillage cover crop production systems. A key component of this project is the development of a farmer-to-farmer network.
